> Is this a commercial art piece ?
_ No it is symbolic and narrative sculpture, I wanted to represent natural clouds, the earth, flames, in my own poetic language. It is for the Kawazaki corporation that distributes petrol, I try to adapt to the concerns of my partners. Making a sculpture for a client is very delicate. I can adapt my work to my client concerns.

_ いいえ、この作品はシンボル的、物語的な彫刻です。そして自分の詩的言語でもって、雲、地球、炎を表現しています。 それはガソリンの流通業者である、川崎商会の為の作品でした。 私はパートナーの関心事に合わせようと努力しました。

>Est-ce une œuvre commerciale ?
_Non, c’est une sculpture symbolique, narrative. J’évoque les nuages naturels, la terre, les flammes dans mon langage poétique. C’est pour l’entreprise Kawasaki, qui distribue du pétrole. J’essaie de m’adapter aux préoccupations de mes partenaires.

_ This sculpture is installed in front of a school for nurses. The sculpture is named after a well known Japanese tale: «momotaro» (the kid born in a peach). This tale promotes moral values such as the respect of the weak and the elderly, honesty and the importance of friendship

_ この彫刻は、医療福祉大学の正面玄関の前に設置されました。誰もが知っている、< ももたろう > から名づけられた「桃から生まれた子供」。この昔話は道徳的な価値を知らせ、特に弱っている老人達に対し尊敬の気持を持ち、正直さと友情を育てる事を 教えます。

_ Cette sculpture est installée devant une université d’aides-soignantes, elle porte le nom d’un conte japonais que tout le monde connaît : «Momotaro» (l’enfant né dans une pêche). Le conte véhicule des valeurs morales, principalement le respect des personnes âgées et faibles, l’honnêteté.

_ This is a public commission for the Botanic Garden of Niigata, I wanted to celebrate the earth’s power, re-create the four seasons in a meeting place with an egg coming out from Earth in the centre. In this area where the four seasons are markedly different and recognizable, people can feel the cycles of time. This sculpture is one hundred tons. The visitor’s body is inside the sculptures, he can climb, touch, feel the power. I am glad to have had such a commission, so close to my personal interests.

_ これは、新潟の県立植物園のための公共彫刻です。私はこの作品で、四季を通しての地球の力強さを賛美しました。中心に地球から押し出してくる卵の形で、力強さを表現しています。 四季のはっきりしているこの地方の人々は、季節を一つのサイクルとして感じる事が出来ます。この作品は全体で100トンありまして、人は彫刻の中に入ったり、登ったり、触ったり、力を感じたり出来ます。私は自分の持つテーマに近い、この様な作品が作れてとても幸せです。

_ C’est une commande pour le Jardin des Plantes de Niitsu-Niigata. J’ai voulu célébrer la force de la terre, recréer les quatre saisons dans un lieu de réunion avec au centre, un œuf qui sort de terre. Dans cette région où les quatre saisons sont vraiment identifiables les gens peuvent sentir le temps cyclique. C’est une sculpture qui fait 100 tonnes, le corps de l’homme est dans la sculpture, il peut grimper, toucher, sentir la force. Je suis heureux d’avoir réalisé cette une commande si proche de mes centres d’intérêts.

_ This sculpture is the result of the meeting with Mr Tamada, who introduced me to Mr Nakanoya who let me do this sculpture. With the confidence acquired doing this sculpture I was able to do the dam work in Tazawako. Each one of my sculptures is the result of human encounter, men and women who trusted me and allowed me to progress and to nurture my art. I have so many people to thank !

_ この彫刻は、玉田さんとの出会いから始まりました。彼は、私にこの彫刻をやらせてくれることになる仲野谷さんを紹介してくれました。そして、この彫刻をやって得られた信頼のおかげで、のち私は田沢湖のダムでの仕事を実現することができたのです。それぞれの作品が、私を信頼し私に前進し成熟する機会を与えてくれた人たちとの出会いから生まれたのです。私には、感謝したい人々が沢山います !

_ Cette sculpture est le fruit d’une rencontre avec Monsieur Tamada. Il m’a présenté Monsieur Nakanoya qui m’a permis de faire cette sculpture. C’est grâce à la confiance acquise en faisant cette sculpture que j’ai pu réaliser par la suite le barrage à
Tazawako.
Chacune de mes sculptures est le fruit de rencontres humaines, des hommes et des femmes qui me font confiance et qui me permettent de progresser, de mûrir mon art. J’ai tellement de gens à remercier !
